Exceptional wildlife photography opportunities, with good chances to see:
Predators like lion, leopard, African wild dog, hyena. Large mammals like elephants, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, kudu, and hippo. Rare species like the rare Roan and Sable antelope. Abundant bird species, including fish eagles, malachite kingfishers, and endangered wattled cranes.

Additionally, in the Chobe Riverfront region, you may encounter large herds of elephants and buffalos, and the elusive leopard, often found in the teak riverine forests. The region is a birdwatcher’s paradise. On a boat cruise along the Chobe River, you may also capture stunning images of crocodiles, hippos, and numerous elephants coming down to the river to drink.

Itinerary

Start in Maun - End in Kasane

For this itinerary, your safari begins in Maun, a gateway town in Northern Botswana on the edge of the breathtaking Okavango Delta.

The journey concludes in Kasane, a bustling town located near the Chobe River. Kasane is also an ideal endpoint for onward travel to the majestic Victoria Falls, offering excellent opportunities for further exploration.

Getting there: The most convenient option for international travelers is via Johannesburg, South Africa, with daily flights available to Maun, Botswana. For the return from Kasane, regional flights and connections via Johannesburg are readily accessible.

Day 1-2

Capturing the Beauty of Southern Moremi Game Reserve

Day 1: Your photographic adventure begins as we pick you up in Maun, whether from your hotel or the airport, around midday. Once all are aboard, we head towards the awe-inspiring Moremi Game Reserve. As soon as we enter the park, the game drive begins, offering your first opportunities to frame its remarkable wildlife and landscapes through your lens. By sunset, we arrive at our scenic camp, where your accommodation is prepared, and a delicious dinner awaits. As twilight settles, you’ll have time to review your first captures under the starry African sky.

Day 2: The day begins with a morning game drive, perfect for capturing the golden hour light as it casts a soft glow over the landscape and wildlife, highlighting intricate textures and details. The early morning offers exceptional opportunities for photography, with animals and stunning vistas bathed in the warm light of dawn.

In the afternoon, we embark on another exciting game drive, allowing you to explore different areas of the Delta. This drive offers a fresh perspective and plenty of opportunities to photograph diverse wildlife, from waterfowl to predators. The Delta’s varied habitats ensure that you’ll find abundant subjects for your camera, whether it’s the vibrant birdlife or iconic African mammals in their natural environment.

Day 3-5

Discovering the Wonders of Khwai (Northeastern Okavango Delta)

Day 3: After a morning game drive in Southern Moremi, we journey to the water-rich Khwai region, renowned for its stunning floodplains and abundant wildlife. As we traverse this beautiful landscape, keep your camera ready for herds of zebra, giraffe, and antelope grazing against the backdrop of winding waterways. By evening, we settle into our new camp, surrounded by the calls of the wild and a perfect setting to review the day’s photos.

Day 4: The morning begins with an exciting game drive in this predator-rich area, where lions, leopards, and African wild dogs are frequently sighted. The adventure continues in the afternoon with another thrilling game drive, exploring the diverse habitats and searching for the perfect photographic moments. With its expansive floodplains and abundant wildlife, Khwai region offers endless opportunities to frame dramatic and intimate scenes of the African wilderness.

Day 5: Start the final day in Khwai region with a morning game drive. The open floodplains provide perfect lighting and expansive views for wildlife photography. You’ll have ample opportunities to photograph iconic species like elephants, giraffes, and hippos.

In the afternoon, the adventure takes to the skies with a breathtaking 30-minute helicopter flight. With the doors removed, you’ll have an unobstructed view of the Khwai region’s diverse landscapes. From above, capture the contrast between the dry mopane woodlands and the shimmering waterways. Elephant and hippo trails, winding channels, and islands form a stunning mosaic of nature, offering unparalleled aerial photography opportunities – an absolute highlight of the trip.

Day 6-7

Iconic Wildlife and Captivating Landscapes in Savute

Day 6: After a morning game drive in Khwai, we head northeast to the untamed Savute region (part of the Chobe National Park). Upon arrival, an afternoon game drive introduces you to Savute’s legendary wildlife. Keep your camera ready for herds of elephants, prowling predators, and dramatic desert landscapes, all bathed in the golden hues of the late afternoon light. By evening, our camp provides a peaceful retreat to reflect on the day’s adventures.

Days 7: Savute offers a full day of morning and afternoon game drives, a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. The expansive savannas, rugged rocky outcrops, and seasonal waterholes provide stunning settings for Botswana’s diverse wildlife. Watch prides of lions resting in the sun, observe hyenas competing for limited resources, and capture dynamic scenes of zebra herds, giraffes, and antelope traversing the plains.

Beyond its extraordinary wildlife, Savute also holds historical intrigue. Explore ancient rock paintings etched into the rocky landscape, offering insights into the lives of early inhabitants and enriching your experience of this wild region.

Day 8-10

Exploring Chobe by Land and Water

Day 8: Begin the day with a final morning game drive in Savute, making the most of your time in this remarkable region. Then, set out north to the renowned Chobe Riverfront. Along the way, a full-day game drive presents opportunities to photograph diverse wildlife and evolving landscapes. By evening, you’ll arrive at your new camp, where the peaceful sounds of the Chobe River welcome you.

Day 9: Spend the morning on a game drive through Chobe Riverfront’s lush environments, where large herds of elephants and buffalo gather along the riverbanks. This region offers a vivid contrast to the drier areas visited earlier in your safari, with an abundance of wildlife and picturesque river scenery.

In the afternoon, a 3-hour boat cruise on the Chobe River provides a fresh perspective. From the water, capture photos of crocodiles basking on the banks, hippos surfacing playfully, and elephants crossing the river. The glowing hues of sunset on the water create a breathtaking backdrop for your final evening in the wild.

Day 10: On your last morning, head out for one final game drive, savoring the beauty of Chobe Riverfront and its abundant wildlife. By midday, your journey ends in Kasane, a convenient location for onward travel to destinations like Victoria Falls.

What’s Included

Accommodation: 9 nights in spacious walk-in tents with private open-roof en-suite bathrooms, including bedding, towels, shower gel, and shampoo.

Meals & Drinks: Three meals daily (Day 1: dinner only; Day 10: breakfast only). All beverages, including water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, house wines, gin & tonic, and beers. Each guests receives a reusable aluminum water bottle to reduce plastic waste.
